Formula Impulse Impulse    Force    Time

Formula
Formula: Impulse

Impulse

Unit
Impulse is (here: approximately) the difference between the final momentum \(p_2\) and the initial momentum \(p_1\). \(\Delta p\) is therefore a change of momentum of a body: \(\Delta p = p_2 - p_2\).

Force

Unit
Force exerted on a body that has resulted in an impulse (change of momentum).

Time

Unit
Time period during which the force \(F\) was applied to a body.
