Formula: Relationship between Angular Frequency and Frequency

Angular frequency

Unit
Angular frequency (also called angular velocity) indicates the angle covered (in radians) per unit time.

Frequency

Unit
Frequency indicates the number of revolutions per time unit. The frequency is the reciprocal of the period \(T\). Consequently, the angular frequency can also be expressed using the period:$$ \omega ~=~ \frac{2\pi}{T} $$

Pi

Unit
Pi is a mathematical constant and has the value \( \pi ~=~ 3.1415926... \). In this case, it is used to specify the angle in radians. Here \(2\pi\) is a complete revolution (360 degrees in degree measure).
