Kinetic energy of the body of mass \(m\) moving with velocity \(v\). The greater the mass and velocity, the greater the kinetic energy.

Mass is an intrinsic property of a body. The greater the mass, the higher the kinetic energy.

At too high velocities, close to the speed of light, this formula does not work anymore and the relativistic formula for the kinetic energy has to be used.
