A capacitor with capacitance \( C \) and a serially connected resistor \(R\) is charged to voltage \( U_0 \). The time-dependent voltage \(U_{\text C}(t)\) across the capacitor during the charging follows the exponential curve:\[ U_{\text C}(t) ~=~ U_0 \, \left(1 - e^{-\frac{t}{R\,C}}\right) \]

As \(t\) goes to infinity, the voltage \(U_{\text C}(t)\) approaches the specified value of the source voltage \(U_0\).
