The scalar triple product is the cross product between two vectors \(\boldsymbol{a}\) and \(\boldsymbol{b}\) and then the scalar product with the resulting vector \(\boldsymbol{a} \times \boldsymbol{b}\) and a third vector \(\boldsymbol{c}\). The scalar triple product gives the volume of the parallelepiped spanned by the three vectors.
