Cross product \( \boldsymbol{a} \times \boldsymbol{b} \) of two vectors \( \boldsymbol{a} \) and \( \boldsymbol{b} \). The resulting vector is always perpendicular to the two vectors and its direction is determined by the right hand rule.

The magnitude \( |\boldsymbol{a} \times \boldsymbol{b}| \) of the cross product gives the area enclosed by the two vectors.
